The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania is a showcase of Pennsylvania's wildlife, (we have nesting bald eagles!), and scenery. Beginning here in Tioga County it continues for about 47 miles south to Avis, Pa, where it meets the Susquehanna River, encompassing some 300,000 acres. The maximum depth of the canyon is 1,450 feet at Waterville. At Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, it is about 800 feet from the rim to the bottom and about 4,000 feet from rim to rim. |
